The Russian city of Ufa is preparing to privatise a historic stately home formerly owned by Stancounselor Ryabinin: auctions have been announced! This 18th-century palace, an example of Ufa’s unique cultural heritage, will be privatised after a period of strict legal proceedings since the previous owners died nearly two decades ago.

The palace, located in the city’s historic center, is renowned for its stunning architecture and is one of the few remaining examples of stately homes in the city; indicating its great cultural importance in the region. The halls and other features of the palace are finely decorated, displaying the refined taste of aristocratic life of the 18th century.

Auctioning of the palace was announced this week, officially opening the door to private investors who are keen to invest and improve a historical landmark of Ufa. A number of national companies are said to be interested in the property, and the auction is expected to attract numerous bids.

According to local government officials, the proceeds from the auctions will be used to fund other preservation initiatives in the city. The authorities have also disclosed that the winning bidder will be provided with certain privileges regarding maintenance of the property.

Experts hope that this transition of ownership from the state to the private sector will not harm the cultural value of the property and have requested the authorities to impose strict laws to protect the historical monuments of Ufa.

If successfully privatised, the palace will become a symbol of the private sector’s involvement in the preservation culture of the region and a popular tourist attraction, benefitting the local economy.
